using tech in my classroom

Throughout the semester, we have learned about tons of new tools that we can incorporate into the classroom! For me, the challenge will be figuring out how to do this in a kindergarten classroom. Some tools will be easy to use with lower levels such as the interactive white boards and Storybird. Others, like TimeToast and iMovie, may be more difficult. Programs like these require more advanced computer skills that I'm not sure my students have. We are just now learning how to scroll down the page and exit a screen!

Even thought it may be a challenge, I think it is important that we make an effort to include technology in our classroom when it is appropriate. Our world is becoming more and more technology based so our students will benefit from learning these skills at a young age.

Here is a quick list of ideas on how I want to use technology in my future classrooms
- blogs to communicate and provide resources for parents
- Wordle to display big ideas/ concepts
- Timetoast for tracking science experiments
- Pixlr to make collages of class projects or special events
- Storybird to create and print books for our class library
- Wordle to expose students to new worlds in a fun way
- iMovie to produce a film on a project or unit the class does
-Timetoast to show how much we grow during the year
